"A cidade dos deuses selvagens"

This book was written by Isabel Allende and talks about a boy called Alex, whose mother is very sick. His mother went to a clinic in Texas so he had to spend some time with his aunt, who was going to a expedition in Amazon to study and try to find a mythological giant animal called "the beast" . He went with her and in the beginning it was very strange because he was used to living in a normal house and there he needed to stay in a campsite and travel in boat all day. Besides there were many dangers, like dangerous animals. Then he met the guide's daughter, Nadia, a Brazilian young girl. They became friends and together they discovered the secrets of Amazon. They met "the beasts" (there were more than one) and found out all the mysteries from that place.
